Chongching Nature &History Museum

The Museum exhibits many items under the national level of protection for public display. It is situated on Pipashanzhenjie Street in the Yuzhong District. It was once originally named Southeast Museum in 1951 but combined with Beipei Southeast People's Science Building as Chongching Nature &History Museum in 1955 to its present location. The floor area is about 20,000 square meters and the total area of the structure is about 10,000 square meters.

There are more than 120,000 articles exhibited in the Museum, many of them on permanent loan from the government, such as: Baren Chuanguan (a Sichuang ancestor's boat-shaped coffin), bricks of Han dynasty and displays with portraits, famous paintings and calligraphy from the Song Dynasty to contemporary pieces, currency, historical documents and relics of the minorities.

Chongching Chinese Folk Medicine Museum

The museum has galleries of medicines with samples of the ingredients, recipes and Chinese traditional medicinal herbs displayed in exhibition rooms of medicinal cure tools. They have collected more than 3000 pieces of medicinal tools, research books and recipe books on display .
