Jinan, - as capital of Shandong province, it is the political, economic, and cultural center. With the Yellow River to the north and Mount Tai to the south, it is the junction of the Qingdao-Jinan and Beijing-Shanghai Railways. its numerous gushing springs.

Thousand-Buddha Hill - called Lishan or Shungeng in ancient times, this hill rises 285 meters above sea level. The name "Shungeng" came from the story that the legendary Emperor Shun farmed the hillside land here before he became a sovereign. "Thousand-Buddha" was derived from the name of a
temple at top of the hill.
Baodu (Gushing Water) Spring - this spring has a long history, for it was first mentioned in the historical records of the Spring and Autumn period (770 - 476 BC) It is surrounded by a number of lesser springs bearing such colourful names as Old Golden Thread, Jade-Washing, and Galloping Horse.
Liubu - is located at the foot of Mt. Taishan just south of Jinan. This is a scenic area featuring cultural relics of the Sui (581 - 618) and Tang dynasties, such as the Four-Door Pagoda, the Dragon and Tiger Pagoda, the Nine-Tip Pagoda, and the Thousand-Buddha Cliff.
