Taiyuan - is the capital of Shangxi province and is considered an ancient city with a history of more than 2,000 years. The city is surrounded by undulating mountains and faces a vast plain to the south. The Fenghe River winds southward through the city at 800 metres above sea level.

Jin Ci Monastery - is a group of temples at the foot of Xuanweng Mountain. It is picturesque with nearly a hundred pavilions, halls, kiosks, waterside pavilion, terraces and bridges built in ancient times. The abundance of historical relics and the natural beauty makes it very special.
Tianlong Mountain Caves - are noted for its cave carvings. There are 24 caves on the cliffs of the Eastern and Western peaks with carvings from the Eastern Wei, Northern Qi, Sui and Tang dynasties.
