Mount Panshan

Mount Panshan lies 12 kilometers northwest of Tianjin's Jixian County and is well-known for its three scenic spots: Five Peaks, Eight Rocks and Three Hairpin Bends. It is referred to as the "first mountain to the east of Beijing".

The Temple was originally built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). The entrance hall, with a grand roof, is the most ancient structure with a tower on top well-preserved today. The Avalokitesvara Pavilion in the temple is a wooden structure. Enshrined in the pavilion is a standing statue of Avalokitesvara which is 16 meters high as one of the country's largest clay sculptures.


Jiuhuashan Mountain (Nine Lotus Mountain)

Jiuhuashan Mountain, situated in the southwestern part of Qingyang County, AnhuiProvince is one of the five Buddhist sacred mountains. It is more than 100 kilometers long, covering an area of 334 square kilometers. It has many scenic spots including 99 peaks, 9 of which are well known among hikers. The highest peak Shiwang Peak is 1,342 meters above sea level. Jiuhuashan is also famous for its shrine of Buddhist cultural relics. There are now 78 existing temples, more than 6,000 Buddhist statues and over 300 monks and nuns. Famous temples include Wannian Temple (Perpetuity Temple), Ganlu Monastery (Sweet Dew Monastery) and Huacheng Monastery.
