Li River Cruises (On the Lijiang River)


A day long Li River cruise between Guilin and Yangshuo is the most popular way to see the natural scenery along the river, which is one of the best natural sights in China. Cruises take up to six hours, depending on the water level and a hot lunch is served onboard. The scenery is spectacular with the locals working alongside the riverbed and fields going about their daily chores appears to have been choreographed for tourists on board.

Tickets can be booked through hotels or bought at the ticket office on Binjiang Road near the Lijiang River and south of Fir Lake. The boats leave in the early morning at about 8 or 8:30 am and hotel shuttles to the dock typically leave from the lobby at 7:30am. It costs about RMB360 to RMB500 which includes lunch on the boat and a bus ride back to Guilin.

 

Qi Feng Village

In the southern suburb of Guilin lies a small village surrounded by hundreds of unique hills and peaks. The various heights, vertical drops and interesting hill shapes seem to charm travelers
 

Xingping

Xingping is a famous ancient town with a history of more than 1,300 years that is at the foot of the fertile hills beside the Lijiang River. It is said that Xingping is the most beautiful place in the entire Yangshuo area.
 

The Ancient Town of Daxu

Daxu Town has a history of 500 years and was one of the biggest towns in south China during the Ming Dynasty. Traditional brick houses lined the streets built with stone slabs and there is a single-arch bridge built about 400 years ago.
 

Yangdi Village

Yangdi Village is located among an array of rolling hills. There are many famous sightseeing places, such as the Gong-Drum shoal (Luogutan), White Tiger Hill (Baihushan) and the Yangdi Waterfalls.
