| Hainan Festive Activities |
The third day of the third lunar month(San
Yue San) of the Li Nationalities in Hainan Province celebration
to be held mainly in  Qiongzhong,
Dongfang, Changjiang, Ledong and Baisha counties and Tongzha
city mostly on a solar calendar day in end of March or early April
4.
The Li people in every villages will gather in the open area to hold
various activities rich in ethnic flavor, such as hunting gun and
archery shooting contests, old song singing by aged people and bamboo
dances. Meanwhile, young men and girls engage in "mountain love",
a tradition peculiar to the Li people. |
Hainan International Coconut Festival
Celebrations mainly held in towns
and cities, especially in Haikou and Sanya in Late March or early
April. Many people don't know China grows coconuts and a lot of other
tropical crops as well. This festival intends to demonstrate Hainan
to the outside world. You'll see a desperately-decorated Coconut Street
and a Lantern Show in Haikou, the Carnival of the Li and Miao nationalities
in Tongzha and Dragon Boating Race and Street Parade in Sanya. |
