Air |
- Haikou , the capital of Hannan Island is 40
minutes away by air from Guangzhou. Haikou's new airport is linked
with Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Macau and about 40 Chinese
cities. Sanya, the southernmost city of the island also is air-linked
with Haikou, Hong Kong and tens of other Chinese cities. By Ferry
- Hainan can be reached by ferry from Guangzhou in about 24 hours,
or Shenzhen and Hong Kong for 28 hours.

How to get around
- There is an efficient express way system around
the whole island and connected highway reaches to almost every
corner of Hainan. The major local transporting means are coach
and taxi. Many motocycles are also used as a popular passenger
carrier. The eastern coast express way is the main transportation
artery moving tourists between Haikou and Sanya. Several bus companies
provide 24 hours service to tourists with shaped buses. You pay
about RMB 75 Yuan for a single journey for 3 hours between the
two major cities. Also there is an old rail networks on the southwest
part of Hainan Island connecting Sanya and Changjiang (Shilu Tow).
Basically this is a cargo railway along with 2 times of passenger
convey each day.
