Kunming is one of the five major international
airports in China, operating 7 provincial routes and more than 40
domestic and international routes. From Kunming, passengers can
fly to many major cities in China as well as Hong Kong, Rangoon,
Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Vientiane, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur. Kunming
Airport is 3.9 kilometers from the city center

The railways linking Kunming constitute
the southwest part of the nation's railway network. With Kunming
at the center, there are five major lines. Guiyang-Kunming railway,
Chengdu-Kunming railway, Nanning-Kunming railway, Guangtong-Dali
railway, Kunming-Haikou railway.

The Kunming Central Bus Station, located
in Beijing Road, southwest of Kunming Railway Station, is the largest
bus depot in Yunnan. It handles over 500 buses a day, to other provinces
and throughout the province. There are various kinds of buses, including
sleepers and luxury buses. Ticketing is computerized and tickets
can be purchased up to one week in advance.

There are about 1,000 public buses operating
56 routes within the city limits of Kunming, among which 9 routes
are self-ticketing, and 115 buses are self-ticketing buses or double-deck
buses.

fare-charge: For standard cars, the fee is 1.6 yuan per kilometer
with a base charge of seven yuan for thefirst three kilometers. For
luxury cars. the fee is 1.8 yuan per kilometer with a base charge
of eight yuan for the first three kilometers. For long-distance transport,
please negotiate with the driver.
