Road --- An expressway runs through Shenzhen
to Guangzhou and also to Shantou in the west. There are buses connecting
Shenzhen with Guangzhou (RMB55) regularly
scheduled and the journey takes about two hours. There are also long
distance buses to Shantou (RMB120) and
Chaouzhou (RMB140). The long distance
bus station is next to the train station and the bus station for Guangzhou
is to the east of the railway station. The bus trip from Shenzhen
to central Hong Kong takes about 1 1/2 hours with departures throughout
the day (telephone 2736 3888). These
buses depart from next to the Shangri-la Hotel. |
City
transport --- Shenzhen's urban transportation
consists of buses, mini-buses, taxis and luxurious double-decker sightseeing
buses. The bus routes are generally very good service and there are
numerous taxis available. Insist the driver use the meter so that
the actual price is agreed for payment at the destination.

Boat --- There are regular scheduled passenger
ships from Shenzhen to Zhuhai, Guangzhou, Haikou (RMB323),
Macao (RMB93), Hong Kong and Kowloon
(RMB155). The Shekou
port (26695601- domestic, 26691213- Hong Kong
and Macau) can be reached by bus No. 419 and 439 from the railway
station and there is also scheduled bus service from the airport to
Shekou. The boat trip to Hong Kong takes approximately one hour and
costs RMB120. |
