The best season to travel to Tibet is from April to October and the rainfall there is extremely high from June to September. The scene of the countryside is in the color of jade green. Plateau climate

How to adapt to plateau climate?

  2. Drink more water.
  3. To keep yourself warm and do not catch cold.
  4. Bring along with anodyne (the type that will not make you feel sleepy), flu-prevention and diarrhoea medicines (Please consult your doctor beforehand).

  • The oxygen content is comparatively low for the place with high elevation. When a person is climbing up a mountain, he/she may aware the oxygen content inhale is not enough. His/her body will then produce more red blood cells for balancing. If the speed in going up the mountain is too fast (e.g. travel by car or by plane), the body may not be able to adapt to the change at once. The symptoms of mountain sickness are headache, dizzy, asthma, easily get tired, insomnia, running nose etc. The symptoms may vary from person to person.
    For those who have heart-disease, high-blood pressure and other critical diseases, they better consult their doctor before travelling there.

Necessities to bring when travelling to Tibet

  1. Clothing for keeping out from cold:Tibet is much above sea level and temperature is low during the morning and evening. Even if you travel there during June and July, you should bring along with enough clothing like feather jacket.
  2. Sleeping bag:You must bring along with a sleeping bag if you go to Tibet by land route or going to visit places outside Lhasa.
  3. Sunglasses and sun-block lotion:The density of ultra-violet in Tibet is extremely high. So, besides bringing along with a sunglasses, sun-block lotion may help too.
  4. Solid food and drink:You should bring along with some solid food that carry high calories e.g. biscuits, chocolate, candies etc. You should also bring enough drinking water for the journey too.
