Located
at the south tip of the Hengduan Mountains, Menghai County is
well known as the "city of Spring" of Xishuangbanna.
People can see the "sea of clouds" at Xiding from November
to December every year. The faraway mountaintops look like small
green islands amidst the rolling waves of clouds.
This unusual bridge over Lousuo River is
100m long. Spectators can stand on the bridge as a viewing platform
to watch the swallows flying over the unusual Dai dugout canoes
in the river.
Located 27 km southwest of Jinghong, the Mandian
River drops directly from a cliff 1,100 m above sea level, forming
a dozen cascades. The biggest cascade has a vertical drop of over
20 m and a width of 100 m in the rainy seasons.
