Air
The Xishuang banna Airport was built in April 1990 and is just 5 kilometers from the downtown area of Jinhong, capital of Xishuang banna. The air distance between Xishuang banna and Kunming is 520 kilometers and the flight takes about 45 minutes. There are also domestic airlines from Xishuang banna to Chengdu, Guangzhou, Chongqing, and Tianjin. International airlines operate the hour long flight to Bangkok.

Road Travel
The highway between Jinhong and Kunming is 692 kilometers. It is very convenient for tourists to take buses since highways connect Jinhong, two counties and forty towns in Xishuang banna. The entire paved highway distance cover 3670 kilometers.

Water Transport
Jinhong Harbor is the main water transport service in Xishuang banna. It has opened an international water communication line to Lao's Vientiane.
