China Visa

China Visa are required to all the overseas passport holders for entry into, exit from or transit through Chinese territories for visiting purpose, traveling or business. From September 23, 2008, China Visa policy has the following adjustments:

A. Multi-entries Visa

(I) Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card holders can apply for multi-entries Visa, which valid for 1 to 3 years. Requirements:

  1. Passport with at least one old China Visa which valid for 6-month or above is required.
  2. Original and copy of Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card are required.
  3. When applying the “F” visa for business and visit, a business card of the applicant is required.

(II)Non-Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card holders can apply for multi-entries Visa, which valid for 6 months. Requirements:

  1. Passport with at least one old China Visa is required.
  2. A copy of Hong Kong Identity Card is required.
  3. Working Visa in Hong Kong valid for 7-month or above is required.
  4. When applying the “F” visa for business and visit which valid for six months, passport with at least one old China Visa and a business card of the applicant are required.

(III) Domestic helpers in Hong Kong apply for a one-entry or two-entry visa for tourism, requirements are as follows:

  1. A copy of employer’s identity card and domestic helper’s identity card, employment contract, and the domestic helper’s passport with period of staying limit in Hong Kong no less than 7-month
  2. A guarantee letter from the employer is required. The letter should have the employer’s consent of the domestic helper’s application for a visa for tourism, observance of the law in China, state clearly the date and destination travelling together with the domestic helper, and the letter is signed by the employer with the same signature as the employment contract.
  3. A guarantee letter from the domestic helper is required. The letter should include the purpose of visiting China is for tourism, the applicant should observe the law in China and not join in any business against the law. The letter should also state clearly the date and destination travelling together with the employer, and it is signed by the domestic helper with the same signature as the employment contract.
  4. The duration of stay shall be considered by the immigration office in accordance with actual conditions. In normal circumstances, a visa will be issued which is valid for one-entry in three months or two-entry in six months, the duration of stay no more than 30-day each time. Please note that in particular circumstances, a visa which is valid for one-entry in one month or two-entry in three months will be issued, and the duration of stay is between 7-15 days each time.
  5. Application of visa for multi-entries in six months is applicable to above requirements, the duration of stay no more than 15-day each time.
     Reminder: the letter from the employer and the letter from the domestic helper should be hand written or typed by computer, and signed by the applicants.

(IV) Non-Hong Kong Identity Card holders cannot apply for multi-entries visa.

B. Visa for relatives-visiting in China

For applying the relatives-visiting visa in mainland China, requirements are as follows:

  1. Senior (60 years old or above) and child can apply for a relatives-visiting visa which valid no more than 180-day. The duration of stay shall be considered by the immigration office in accordance with actual conditions.
  2. Other applicants can apply for a relatives-visiting visa which valid no more than 60-day. The duration of stay shall be considered by the immigration office in accordance with actual conditions.
  3. Applicants are required to provide his or her Chinese name, Chinese name of his or her relatives in mainland China, their relationship, Chinese address and contact number(s) of his or her relatives in mainland China.
